I am Yvonne Gist Foster, a candidate on March 03, 2020 for an uncommitted delegate position from Congressional District 4 to the Democratic National Convention. A lifelong Democrat, I have worked in the campaigns of several Democratic candidates since I was 11 years old, many years and many pounds ago!
I chose to run as uncommitted because, at the time to qualify, I was unsure of the presidential candidate whom I wanted to support. With such a large number of candidates, I also wanted to give them more time for that certain one to show that he/she could bring our party together.
I have worked in retail sales and management, as a clerk in a union office and a board of education office, as a teacher of math and English, and as a Uniserve Director for AEA. My work experiences have taught me skills in organization and negotiation and, most importantly, in dealing with people, all important in selecting and promoting a candidate for the office of President of the United States.
Regardless of who among our worthy candidates becomes our nominee, I shall wholeheartedly support him or her!
I am currently the vice chairperson of my local Democratic Party, and a member of the Shoals Liberal Ladies, the Alabama Democratic Reform Caucus, and the State Democratic Executive Committee.
I respectfully request and appreciate your vote.
Are you running as a delegate for a Democratic candidate or as a Democratic Uncommitted delegate? Share your story with the Left in Alabama community and ask for votes. Too often, people just see a list of delegate candidates and randomly select a few names. But these delegates represent YOU at the convention! They vote on the platform and they vote for the nominee. Give them a reason to vote for you!
