Prominent Alabama GOP party member and birther, Hugh McInnish joined forces in court today with Constitution Party presidential nominee Virgil Goode. They're asking the Circuit Court in Montgomery to force Secretary of State Beth Chapman to verify that all 2012 ballot nominees are “eligible” to serve in their offices.
We know what that means:
In particular, the complaint alleges that there is prima facie evidence that both Obama's birth certificates are fraudulent, and that, under the Supreme Court interpretation, he does not qualify in any event as a “natural born citizen” eligible to be president.
The complaint alleges that under the Alabama and U.S. Constitutions the Alabama Secretary of State, having taken an oath to uphold both, must verify Mr. Obama's eligibility; otherwise a fraud could be committed on the American people and votes nullified in the state of Alabama.
The Complaint also refers to and incorporates evidence obtained by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his investigator Mike Zullo , which confirm that the alleged long form birth certificate which was posted on the White House's website is fraudulent.
Now, this is just setting up a fun and entertaining GOP showdown. State party chair Bill Armistead is encouraging everyone to go see a movie that says the President's real father is an American citizen: labor activist Frank Marshall Davis.
That directly contradicts McInnish's lawsuit and his much-ridiculed speech on the steps of the Capitol where he offered “proof” that Obama's birth certificate is a forgery.
Once he stopped laughing, Alabama's Democratic Party Chair, Judge Mark Kennedy, had this to say in response:
When will the Alabama Republican Party give it up. This is the 4th time these people have sued in State Court. Two weeks ago Bill Armistead claimed the Presidents father was an American Communist. That didn't work out so well. So now he is back to the birther bs. This is beyond ridiculous Bill, let's meet at a public forum and talk about real issues. I have only been begging you to do so for two years. I will even show you my long form birth certificate.
Good to know the Alabama GOP is hard at work creating “jobs, jobs, jobs” – for lawyers anyway.
