Oklahoma Pol Blames Gays "And Other Debauchery" For Bad Economy

Although it appears that Oklahoma legislator, Sally Kern, would fit right in with some segment of our population.

WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national
moral crisis; and

WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and

WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking
the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and

WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and

WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States
disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;

Hope the Alabama Legislature doesn't get wind of this effort.  Because certainly they have nothing more important to do, right?

countrycat :: At Least She's Not From Alabama

An entire month to an immoral behavior?

What would that behavior be, Sally Kern?  Maybe it's using state funds to fly down and see your mistress in Argentina while lying about the destination and purpose of your trip.

Maybe it's putting your lover's family members on your Senate payroll?

Or perhaps soliciting anonymous sex in an airport men's room.....

What does Sally Kern believe in?  According to her Web site, it's:

I am a staunch social and fiscal conservative who believes in limited government, the U.S. Constitution, and traditional moral values.

What is it about Oklahoma?  Remember Senator Tom Coburn who generated much comment when he shared his fantasy made this remark about lesbians in public school bathrooms:

"You know, Josh Burkeen is our rep down here in the southeast area. He lives in Colgate and travels out of Atoka. He was telling me lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in southeast Oklahoma that they’ll only let one girl go to the bathroom. Now think about it. Think about that issue. How is it that that’s happened to us?" -
Tom Coburn, 8/31/04

Amazing.

I wish this weren't so believable. (4.00 / 1)
Sadly, this is what happens when religious fundamentalism gets hold of your government.

Our Alabama governor does have an opinion about all this sexin' around. (4.00 / 2)

"The only thing that I'm hoping he can do is, one, get his family back together, solidify that.

Turns out Riley and Sanford are bible study buddies.

Here's the link

Hmmm ... (0.00 / 0)
So Bob Riley doesn't have anything to say about his Bible study buddy abusing the South Carolina taxpayers in order to spend quality time with his girlfriend?  These Republicans are all about eliminating waste and abuse, until it turns out that one of their own is benefitting from said waste and abuse.  Then they circle the wagons and get all concerned for the poor abuser.  Hyp. O. Crit!

Sen. Coburn, hmmmm! (4.00 / 2)

Would that be the same Sen. Coburn who "knew about" Sen. Ensign's little excellent adventure?

And why am I just now finding out that Gov. Soulmate's wife is the heir to the Skil tool company fortune?  No wonder he wants to work it out!

That explains the "no divorce" decision (4.00 / 1)

The Skil heiress should definitely change the locks.  The sooner the better.

And yes, the righteous Senator Tom Coburn is John Ensign's roommate and was aware of his philandering months before the story broke.  Strikes me that he wasn't a very effective House Mother, condoning adultery and all that.

guess tom's ok with anything (4.00 / 1)
as long as lesbians aren't involved...

Pass the Popcorn Please. (4.00 / 2)

I wonder if Sally Kern ever considered that just maybe, the Supreme Being might be pissed off because based on a bunch of lies, with no provocation,  we invaded another country and killed/tortured a bunch of innocent people. Seems like that violates at least two of the big ten. While her list doesn't have any in the big ten.

Guess that probably passed right by her - why take responsibility when you can blame it on others.

Maybe someone should remind them all that God hates xenophobes and shrimp.

I did NOT know that... (4.00 / 2)
...about the shrimp.

These are the elites, Daddycat (4.00 / 1)

No way are they going to keep faith with a God who forbids shrimp cocktail.  Or immigrant bashing, gay bashing, racism or any of that other fun stuff.

They'll just invent their own God in that case ...

In this case I googled "Almighty dollar" then clicked on images.  It was on the first page.  There was another animated one of a dollar bill flapping it's angelic wings.

Actually I was playing on shrimp (not Kosher) and religious bottomfeeders. They all stink.

Actually, I knew that. (4.00 / 1)

Leviticus (4.00 / 2)

IMHO, will becomes more relevant again, with each year that our seas become more toxic, and the bottom feeders/filterers become more filthy.

The crabs and lobsters feed on carrion just like buzzards do. Oysters and clams and mussels sit down in toxic sludge, shrimp are filtering whatever Katrina stirred up, and modern pig farming is such that a hog GOES ITS ENTIRE LIFE without even turning around, until it is finally slaughtered - that's how crowded they are.

God help us all, man and beast.
